Clemmie and Esme _edited.jpg

Hello

My name is Esme, the founder of Bumps & Births. I am a qualified midwife in the UK, hypnobirthing teacher and a new mum, who lives in France.  I am not practising as a midwife currently, however I am still a member of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) in the UK, and I strive to keep up to date with current birth matters and the NHS. Previously I have worked in three different NHS trusts; Leeds, Oxford and Exeter, broadening my knowledge and experience of how different NHS trusts can work.

Due to living in France, all courses will be delivered online. The huge benefit to this is that I can spread the word about hypnobirthing worldwide, and continue my passion of supporting pregnant women and their family remotely!

My Story

Bumps & Births started because I am passionate about empowering expectant parents to have a positive birth experience. Being a midwife I have seen first hand how impactful the mind is during labour. From witnessing women and their birth partners use hypnobirthing techniques, I was compelled to learn more and go on to train as a hypnobirthing teacher. My courses are a combination of a full antenatal education, with an emphasis on how Hypnobirthing tools and techniques can help you to navigate your pregnancy, labour and birth with confidence.

I believe that every woman deserves to feel empowered and in control during their pregnancy and birth, whatever that birth looks like, and I am committed to helping you achieve that. I look forward to being a part of your beautiful journey.

About the Courses

The Bumps and Births course draws on my knowledge working as a midwife and hypnobirthing teacher. The aim of the course is to help you and your birth partner to feel informed, empowered and in control of your birthing experience. I want to help you feel positive about pregnancy and birth, and understand how to trust your body and your instincts to help influence your birth for the better.

Preparation is key and I feel very strongly that doing some antenatal birth education can honestly make the biggest difference to your overall experience. Birth can take many twists and turns, so being equipped with all the tools you will need to help navigate the choices and decisions you may be faced with is so important to help you feel in control.

Being a midwife and mother, I am able to offer you an honest and realistic approach to birth and the maternity system. This course will help you to prepare for all eventualities of birth, know what your rights are and how to have conversations with your care providers. It will help you to prepare for an optimal birth, whilst accepting that your plans can change throughout pregnancy and labour, and to be prepared for that.
